A whiter smile at Brunner Court Dental & Implant Practice

Did you know that one in four of us in the UK are unhappy with our smile?

With advances in modern dentistry, its no longer just a case of filling and taking out teeth. At Brunner Court Dental & Implant Practice we offer a range of dental treatments that will give you a smile you can be proud of.

Teeth whitening

Teeth Whitening is a quick and effective cosmetic dental treatment that can make a real difference to the colour of your teeth and the appearance of your smile.

At Brunner Court Dental & Implant Practice we offer many options for whitening your teeth including Enlighten teeth whitening, a high performing teeth whitening system that allows you to whiten your smile in the comfort of your own home. Enlighten Whitening is the only system to guarantee Vita Shade B1.

How does teeth whitening work?
Firstly, book an appointment so that we can check your oral health to ensure everything is looking good enough to go ahead with the treatment. We will also take dental impressions during this same appointment. These are sent to the lab where your very own custom-made whitening trays are created.

About a week later, your whitening trays and gel will be ready to collect. Your dentist will show you exactly how much gel to put in the trays, which you will then wear overnight to whiten your teeth while you sleep!

When will I see results?
The beauty of a teeth whitening treatment is that it starts to take effect very quickly. You should begin to see a whiter, brighter smile within a week, with full results achieved after three weeks.

White fillings

White fillings are a natural looking alternative to the traditional, silver amalgam fillings.  At Brunner Court Dental & Implant Practice we can replace your old fillings with a tooth coloured composite that will match the colour of your natural teeth.

White fillings can be used to repair decay and prevent further damage or sensitivity, we use the most modern materials available, making our white fillings a strong and durable choice for tooth repair.

If you are interested in replacing your old fillings, please contact the Practice and make an appointment to see one of our dental team.

Dental crowns

All-ceramic or all-porcelain dental crowns provide a better natural colour match to your natural teeth than any other crown type and may be more suitable for people with metal allergies. They are not as strong as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and they wear down opposing teeth a little more than metal or resin crowns.

Should you need a crown, your dentist will explain the options available and suggest the most suitable for your needs.

Porcelain veneers

Is your smile discoloured or do you have some cracked or chipped teeth?

Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) can be used to perfectly mask and disguise the imperfections by mimicking the appearance of your natural teeth. Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-coloured material designed to cover the front surface of teeth and improve the appearance of your teeth and therefore your smile. The veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their colour, shape, size, or length. The overall cosmetic results can be life-changing

Full mouth rehabilitation

Full mouth rehabilitation describes the process of rebuilding or restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws.

It typically involves general or restorative dentists performing procedures such as dental crowns, dental bridges and dental veneers and can incorporate dental specialists such as Periodontists (specialising in the gums), Oral Surgeons, Orthodontists (specialising in tooth movements and positions) and Endodontists (specialising in the tooth pulp).

The need for full mouth reconstruction may result from:

  • Teeth that have been lost due to decay or trauma.
  • Teeth that have been fractured.
  • Teeth that have become severely worn as a result of long-term acid erosion (foods, beverages, acid reflux), or tooth grinding.
  • Ongoing complaints of jaw, muscle and headache pain requiring adjustments to the bite (occlusion).

Cosmetic composite bonding

Cosmetic composite bonding is a non-invasive treatment that uses tooth-coloured filling material to lengthen or re-shape the front teeth. The treatment is a relatively simple method of disguising small defects such as chipped or crooked teeth, or gaps between teeth. Your teeth are prepared with an etching solution and then applied with special composite resin materials. We shape the resin to give a natural appearance and bond it into place.
